It’s at this time of year (& hopefully always) that I like to give thanks to all that support the Pro Shop team throughout our long golfing season.
The support you all give us and the club in its entirety, is second to none, so thank you...

Last week I was lucky enough to be able to go to the BMW at Wentworth. What a day I had with my friend Jeremy who kindly to me out for the day to celebrate my birthday.
Watching the golf on the Thursday, it was clear it could be a record breaking score that won it. I got to see loads of players including McIlroy, Horschel, Lowry, Fleetwood and many more. Standout players I saw were definitely Lowry and McIlroy. The ball striking was supreme with Lowry hitting little trappy fades everywhere and McIlroy bombing it skyward.
One thing that stood out for me was how neutral the ball flights of these top players were. The term frozen rope didn’t really do then justice with these amazing shots reigning into the flags!
I did have one little gripe about my time there and that was that there really wasn’t any happiness in any of them. This really surprised me, no interaction with the crowds at all and certainly no smiles were to be seen. A real shame when everyone in the record-breaking crowds was so happy to be there. I understand the so called game face but I think maybe some may need to remember when they were on the opposite side of the ropes and they may do a bit better than they did this week. A great day though and something I would recommend to anyone as it’s a great day out.
