Struggling with your long irons?

It can be perfectly understandable to find yourself struggling with a specific area of your golf game. Perhaps you find it hard to land a fairway off the tee, or you feel like you walk off every green having made a 3-putt, but how do you feel about your approach shots, and in particular playing with your long irons?

Long irons can be notoriously difficult to strike. With a lower loft and longer shaft when compared to your scoring irons, long irons require a more precise swing in order for you to make good contact with the ball.

Have you tried a golf hybrid?

An excellent alternative to longer irons is hybrids. These clubs pack all the best of both worlds into one handy package. They give you some good solid distance while being shorter and nimbler than fairway woods, resulting in a club that feels very easy and natural to swing through the ball with.

Hybrids also have larger clubheads than long irons that not only pack more punch when you strike the ball, but give you a greater sense of confidence when you’re standing over the ball.

Another reason that makes a golf hybrid such a strong club to add to the bag is the sheer degree of versatility it brings you. You can take it off the tee if your big focus is to land on the fairway on a tricky tee shot, you can use it to approach the green, and you can bump your ball onto the green if you’ve been caught in a thick patch of greenside rough.

If you’ve never played with a golf hybrid club and you’re considering having a go with one, we have the very best hybrids from Titleist waiting for you in the pro shop…

Titleist hybrids

Titleist makes phenomenal hybrids, and the clubs in their GT range look fantastic and feel incredibly easy to strike the ball with. Each model in the range has a sleek black aesthetic, and when you turn the clubhead over, you’ll make out the silver accents detailing the sole of the club.

Progressing in numerical order, the GT1 hybrid is best suited to players who have a naturally slow swing speed. The GT1 has an ultra-lightweight construction that makes it very easy to swing through the air, allowing players to build up their swing speeds to gain distance on their strikes. Providing an effortlessly high launch, this ball will get you back to safety if you find yourself away from the fairway.

The GT2 hybrid is the club in the range that most players will get on well with. Titleist has focused on boosting the MOI numbers on this club, essentially ensuring you’ll be making very accurate strikes each time you step up to the ball. With a flatter, playable sole design, you’ll have no issue striking through tough turf with this hybrid in-hand.

If you’re a skilled player, you’ll take advantage of all the workability the GT3 hybrid has to offer. With a smaller profile, the GT3 has a pleasing aesthetic and is wieldy to swing through the air. This club also features heel-toe center of gravity adjustability, allowing you to find your perfect set up to each and every shot you take.
