Welcome to this week’s newsletter. Well, Boris has now had his say and we have the ‘roadmap’ to a return to golf at the club. Although it’s a little disappointing that we have not been able to return earlier than the end on March, we have a lot to be excited about when we do finally walk over the club’s threshold once again, clubs in hand. We have been given a month to get things ready for you and the next few weeks will be filled with all the staff, from both the proshop and the greenkeeping team getting out on to the course and looking at tidying up the courses ready for play. We will be busy getting the range cleaned, nets repaired and ensuring everything we are able to do is done ready for the onslaught of our links friends returning. We will have our own 'roadmap' about our impending return to golf very soon. |
Our impending return only 5 weeks away |
We are in the final stages of discussions about how we return to golf, including the tee availability, number of rounds and pre booking times. We should have something ready for you a couple of weeks before we return on the 29th March. We want to ensure we make this as simple a return as we can and we have learned from the two previous lockdowns what works and what doesn’t. Rest assured we will be returning to golf with a lot more daylight to get people around the courses and with the possibility of fourballs also (in selected times) we should be able to satisfy the demand we are expecting on tees times. You may not get the exact time you want but there will always be the opportunity to play at some point in the day. One thing I can confirm is that the teesheet will open for bookings on the 22nd March at 9am ready for golf’s return on the 29th. Good luck getting a time as I am sure the demand will be huge. More information will be made public shortly. |

The winners were: Kathie Mabberley - £750 Andrew Rogers - £600 Graham White - £450 James Brooker - £300 Shell Foster - £150 Members may also be interested to know that this month saw a significant milestone reached and £50,000 has now been raised for LGC. |

Get yourself ready for our return |
As we return to the game, not all of us have had the luxury of a net in the back garden or for that matter a garden big enough for a few wedge shots. When we come back the PGA staff can't wait to get you back to top form and playing your best golf. We will be launching some return to golf coaching packages for you all in next week's newsletter and I ask you all to considering a few lessons may help your game for the coming years' golf season. Anyone interested in coaching session please get in touch and I will of course pass you onto the appropriate professional for your needs. Online booking will go live again as and when we know when we are returning. We look forward to getting you better this year with some exciting changes to the coaching setup and delivery. |
