Welcome to this week's news and the final newsletter of 2020. What a year it has been, for so many reasons. It has been a year of tragedy, lockdowns, a golf boom and most of all, a year of change. Throughout it all you have been as supportive as ever and for that on behalf of myself and the club, I thankyou from the bottom of my heart. The club has once again bucked the trend. With so many clubs struggling, to be a part of what Littlestone is doing and seeing it flourish, it is an honour to oversee. Covid has certainly affected our everyday lives on a grande scale. It looks like it will do so, for many months to come as well. We will of course keep a close eye on what is happening at the club and keep you all up to date on any changes we are forced to make going forward. Your continued support on this, is much appreciated but I must insist that if you do have problems, please get in touch with me directly on my club email. The Pro Shop team have worked astonishingly hard over the last year, both in and out of work and I would like to thank them for their hard work, in very trying conditions. Well done boys, you've done us proud. Jake has now qualified as a PGA Professional, Mark has qualified as a wedge matrix instructor and enters his final year of PGA studies and young James has now started his PGA training. Next year is set to be a year of development, in particular developing the coaching business at the club. Watch this space we have some exciting things coming in 2021. |

| Both courses have pretty much returned to the full shedule for the time of year with a few tweaks here and there. A special thankyou to all of you who have supported the competitions this year, they have gone from strength to strength. We will of course try to develop more competitive events for you to play in next year. The Men's Section in particular has been boosted this year in numbers and we would really like to develop competitive events for them in 2021, as well as all sections of the club. Anyway here are a few results from another week of competitive golf at Littlestone. Warren. Vets Sid Hough Trophy Stephen Griffin - 34 points
Nice steady score from Stephen with a very healthy two for four points on the 2nd hole. Well done indeed.
Mixed Turket Trot Mike Wibberley - 42 points
Well, what a score from treasurer Mike. In charge on the numbers for the Warren club he certainly got in charge of his own numbers. With 12 pars and birdie on 17 he steamed to victory. Great scoring Mike, well played indeed. Championship
Ladies Stableford Gill Mcmillan - 32 points
In what can only be described a difficult conditions, Gill took the win with a very patient round. The course was playing very long and her patience cerainly paid off with a win. Well done Gill.
Men's Stableford Sean McDermott - 41 points
Great score from board director Sean. A great score of 14 pars made up a score including no less than seven, three pointers and ten, two pointers. Very well crafted round and the competition between husband and wife is now really hotting up? I haven't seen you on the winners rosta for a few weeks Bilgi, time to get you on the training ground again. A special mention to Tim Russell also, he broke the 70 barrier on Saturday with a fantastic gross 69 and 40 points only just pipped by Sean. Great scoring Tim, well done. Vets Stableford Gary Calver - 36 points
Many congrats to Gary, who has been playing some wonderful golf after some lessons a few weeks ago. Great scoring with six three pointers on the card in testing conditions. Well played Gary keep up the good work, I told you it would come. Men's Tuesday Stableford Jeremy Smith - 37 points
It's been a while Jeremy since I have seen you at the top of the pile. Many congrats as it was a fantastic score and well deserved. Five, three point scores helped the cause as well as a string of two pointers to finish off the round. Many congrats and I am sure I can find you some goodies instore to spend the spondulicks on Well, that's the last review of 2020 and we head into the new year hopefully with new goals and aspirations for our golf in 2021. Next year, COVID allowing, I would really like to get both courses playing membership active as much as possible in competitive golf. So if you have any ideas of what you would like to integrate or improve, just let me know and I will of course do my best to sort it for you, under advice from the appropriate club comittees. |
