Welcome to this week's newsletter, I hope you're well.
We have now been back to golf for a week and on the whole it has been a great return to the links. Now I know there has been some issues with teetime reservations but we are doing our best to accomodate as many of you as possible. Unfortunately on the Championship we only have the space for so many teetimes and demand is outstripping availablility. Hopefully you will have now seen David and my email about the changes to the bookings and this should help a bit. More of that later on. The courses are looking in great condition and by all accounts are playing lovely which is great to hear. We have put an awful lot of effort into the up keep over the last few weeks and it is great to see them doing so well. Malcolm is on the home stretch now and will be retiring this Friday anyone wanting to say goodbye he's around most of the day on Friday. He has assured me also that it is certainly not the end as he intends playing a lot more golf now he has retired. He says he is looking forward to being on the other side and has recently picked up a couple of small issues he wants to bring to the greens comittee. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this week's news. |

Warren All previous booking amendments remain Tee spaces are still available on most days
Food & Beverage As we await news on the Tier system, we want to be able to offer members the chance for a least a takeaway hot drink and snack. From Monday, 14th December we will have takeaway hot drinks and snacks available from 8:00am to 1:00pm served from the downstairs restaurant. Depending on the Tier notification, we will continue this as demand dictates so please make sure to grab something on your way to the first tee. |

| We have now been back to golf for a week and renewing competitive golf has been the first point of order. Thanks to everyone who has played and well done to the winners. It is certainly a different way of playing now that the WHS now frimly in place. Thankfully the WHS system has now had time to settle somewhat, but there are still issues within its framework. No one likes significant change, but once we get it all sorted we will be wondering how we played without it. If anyone has issues with the handicap index plaese let me know and we will see what we can do for you. Latest results below: Warren Men's December Stableford Lee Heales - 35 points
A nice tidy round from Lee this week takes the first win after lockdown. With doubles at 8 and 10 the only blemishes on the card he battled through with 9 pars and 7 bogeys. Very steady golf. Well played sir. Womens Ladies Stableford Shell Foster - 33 points
As we return to golf Shell has returned to the rich vein of form pre lockdown. After a few hints a tips form yours truly Shells back on winning form. With a two on the 2nd hole and five, three pointers it was a well put together round with a couple of blips. Keep it up Shell and it's nice to see it coming together. Championship Seniors & Vets Stableford Chris Bates - 39 points
Well, I have been waiting for this one for sure. Chris has been steadily improving and a great score was always on the cards. With seven, three point scores, a four pointer, nine pars and a two on the card it was a superb round. I am thrilled for Chris who works astonishigly hard on his game and Iam sure he has worn out that net in the garage now. Many congrats the work we put in has really paid off. Time to re-assess the goals me thinks. Men's Turkey Trot Gary Waite - 36 points
On a very cold and miserable day, warmed only by the Captains' generously donated Christams grog, Gary played a blinder. A well crafted card topped off with a birdie birdie finish no less. Well played Gary. The results of the blind pairs competiton are below also: 1st - Gary Waite & Mitch Carter 2nd - Tim Russell & James Senior 3rd - Gordon Hedley & Bill Ball Men's Tuesday Stableford Paul Woodward - 42 points.
Wow, what a score from Paul. With seven, three pointers and a four pointer on the 8th, it certainly set up a great score. Many congrats on a well put together round. |
