Just for everyones information, at the last Captains' Committee there has been a change to the rules regarding dogs on the golf course. This will come into force from the 1st January 2021. It will be up to the club to enforce the rules, so please be kind if approached by a member of staff.

Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Directors held on Thursday 29th October at 2:00pm

3007  Captain’s Committee – Minutes are posted separately on the website.  The CC had asked the Board to consider a change to the existing rule re ‘Dogs on the Course’  (Rule 1.5) – to be altered as follows:

Sub paras to Rule 1.5 – proposed revisions:

a)     Remains

b)    All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.  This applies to both courses. No dogs allowed on either course during Trophy or major competition days on the respective courses, but are permitted after the final group of players have teed off and remote from the competition.    Dogs are permitted during weekly medals and / or stablefords  –  but only with playing partners agreement – ideally with 24 hours notice.

c)     Revise to indicated “Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times”. i)Revise to indicate “Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times”, ii)Revise to “remove the dog from the course”, iv) Remains, v) Remains.

The Board approved the proposal and the rule revision will be introduced from Jan 1st 2021. Dog owners should familiarise themselves with the new rules – ensuring that their dogs are now kept on a lead at all times whilst on both courses and that they contact their partners prior to playing on those days when dogs are permitted.
