Welcome to this week's newsletter and of course it's all about our impending lockdown. The government has now issued a mandate (although not initially clear) to lock us down and as I am writing this, it is still the case. As of close of play today, we will be locked down till December. Not entirely sure why we are being locked down, but we will of course follow the rules and act responsibly within the law. The good news is that we have some great course works planned for the coming weeks and when we come back to the course, we should be coming back to it in awesome condition. Malcolm has some deep tining and dressing planned which will open up the greens and let them breathe. Alongside the seeding we have done, we should see fantastic surfaces ready for our return. The reintroduction of the bunker refurbishment program is looking like a project we may also look into completing going forward. It is certainly the perfect time to be doing such projects with there being no golfers on the course, especially as the staff are able to complete awkward works, un-hindered. Well, it's a shorter one this week but enjoy the read and rest assured next week's newsletter will be an epic read of fun, frivolity and laughter. |
We have a lot to look forward to! |
One thing is for sure is that after our impending lockdown, we will have a lot to look forward to. With views like this, I for one can't wait to get back to the course and see it in it's winter glory. I have lots planned to keep you all involved in the club over the next few weeks, so please support my projects and get involved.
Read on to find out more, let's make the best of a bad situation. |

Masters week is an exciting time for any avid golfer. It's when we get to watch our favourite golfers battle it out on one of the most iconic courses in the world. Flowers in full bloom, an array of beautiful colours, and a course in pristine condition year-after-year. Augusta National is a special place, so we thought we'd run through some of the standout Masters memories ahead of next week's showdown.
Sunday Shifts
In 1996, Greg Norman turned a six-stroke Sunday lead into a five-stroke loss to Nick Faldo. In 1978, Gary Player started the final round eight strokes behind before shooting the lowest-ever final round (64) at Augusta to claim the Green Jacket! Fighting Spirit
Tiger’s incredible 2019 comeback win springs to mind, but Ben Hogan recovered from a terrible car crash in 1949 to win The Masters by five strokes in 1953. Ben Crenshaw’s 1995 victory came in the same week as the funeral of long-time instructor Harvey Penick. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Hole-outs, playoffs and plenty of drama…Send us a message with your favourite Masters memory.
