We have had quite a few competitions this past week and the golf continues to be played at a very high standard. Praise indeed as the conditions for play has been somewhat inclement to say the least. Here are a few of these selected results for you to look at. Warren Course Vets Winter Trophy R2 Robert Nugent - 41 points
Solid round from Bob this week to take the spoils. A pretty good start of 19 points out with a two at the 9th but then the back nine lit up. With three, three point scores and four pointer on the 14th certainly made the difference leading to a superb back nine points tally of 22 points. Mens October Stableford Brent Bull - 40 points
Brent does it again. Great scoring and earns Brent another one shot cut to 19 handicap. An astonishing round of nine, three point scores and a four pointer, even a birdie at the 6th. Many congrats Brent the handicap is coming down steadily. Ladies Stableford Moira Johnson - 45 points
Wow, what a score from Moira in what I believe is her and our very own Penny’s first competition. Very steady indeed going our with a lovely 19 points and then BOOM a back nine of 26 points including five, three point scores and a whopping five pointer on the 11th. Brilliant for Moira netting her first win and a real confidence booster. That has earned Moira a whopping five shot cut to the handicap. Well done Moira!
Championship Course Ladies Stableford Judy Lench - 36 points
Well doe to Judy with a lovely round in pretty poor conditions. With six, three point scores on the card and a wonderful finish consisting of a string of three, three point scores helped Judy take the win. Ladies Weekend Stableford Liz Jones - 36 points
Liz takes another win. Our poor weather specialist takes the win with a super steady 18 points both sides and a cheeky little birdie on the 13th. Very consistent from Liz and of course adds to the other wins this year. Well done Liz, keep it up. Men's Stableford Peter Remy - 40 points
We haven’t seen Peter on the winners rostrum very often this year and it's great to welcome him back to the winners' enclosure. A superb gross 70, one under par and give birdies on the card certainly helped get him on his way. He was actually four under par from the 3rd tee to the 18th. Superb scoring marred by a six on the second and bogeys on the 6th and 14th. Well done Peter it was a great score. Seniors Monday Stableford Chris Reynolds - 38 points
Mr President shoots a wonderful score. Thankfully our President is far better at the game than Mr Trump professes to be. Chris scored a superb round consisting of 14 pars, three birdies and a no score. Mr Steady continues to be arguably the most consistent player in the club and a Littlestone legend. Well done Chris, great scoring. Tuesday Stableford & The Sid Carter Trophy David Weighton - 38 points
What a score from next years captain. Consisting of two birdies, 13 pars and three bogeys and a one over par gross it certainly ticked all the boxes. I am sure David felt he left a few out there though, those new clubs must be working for you. I will have the four iron for you very soon. Well done David. David also takes the Vets Sid Carter trophy a double win for the single figure handicapper. Thanks again to all of you who have taken part in this weeks competitions and well done to those of you who have triumphed. |
