I am sat here looking at a wall of boxes and wondering what to do first. Our move has been completed with little hassle but lots of emotion and were ready to start again, again! I have of course been keeping up to date with all the goings on at the club and the great golf continues, more of that later. We have had a great deal of rain over the last few weeks and it has certainly been well recieved by Malcolm and the team, although, playing in these conditions can be somewhat challenging. The major works on the greens have now been completed and thankyou for your patience as they completed these essential works ready for the winter months. You will be pleased to know after careful consultation with the new Captain and the greens committee we have decided not to use mats this winter for any elongated period of time. This will of course be dependant on weather (it would have to be horriffic for a long time) but we have no plans to reinstate them. That said if any of you wish to use a mat in social golf please do so as it all helps with course condition. Hope you enjoy the rest of the read. |
When Sergio Garcia won The Masters in 2017, every headline was along the lines of ‘Finally!’. More than three years later, his win at the PGA Tour’s Sanderson Farms Championship marks his first win since and prompted many similar headlines. Although, did you know both victories involved Sergio putting with his eyes shut at impact?
On the European Tour, Tommy Fleetwood looked to cap the return of the big names at the Scottish Open, a Rolex Series event, with a victory. But fellow Englishman Aaron Rai upset the odds to beat Fleetwood in a playoff that saw Tommy miss from a couple of feet at the first playoff hole. Both storylines demonstrate the importance of putting well when the pressure's on. So, if you struggle with holing out or three-putt too many times due to poor distance control, send us a message below and we'll be happy to help.
