Well, what can I say about this week's competition golf...It has once again been a humdinger of a week with some astonishing scores and even the possibility of a course record. It is great to see everyone getting involved and in particular it is great to see all the new members getting involved in competitions. If there is anything these new members need or any qiestions you have regarding competitions, just get in touch and we will do our best to answer your questions. Anyway, onto this week's honours roll call: Warren: Ladies Weekend Stableford Sylvia Vickerman - 37 points
(Many congrats go to Sylvia with a great round in testing conditions. With six 3 point scores in the round and paring three of the five par threes, it certainly goes to show do well on the par threes and a good score will follow. Nice scoring Sylvia.) Vets Stableford Peter Brooker - 40 points
(Great scoring from Peter. With six 3 point scores and a birdie on the 13th it setup a great back nine of 22 points to secure a very well deserved win. Nice scoring sir!) Men's Saturday Stableford Stephen Pope - 34 points
(With 34 winning the day it goes to show how hard it was it there on Saturday. In difficult conditions of high winds, Stephen held it together for a very steady round, mared by a nice two on the 16th but followed by a triple on 17. Goes to show how much the wind affected the play on the day.) Championship: Artisans Sunday Stableford Lee Weathered - 38 points
(Very steady round from Stephen with two equal halves of 19 points to secure the win. WIth six 3 pointers on the card, he certainly took the weather by the scruff of the neck and battled thorugh. Nice steady play indeed.) CL Men's Stableford Peter Remy - 34 points
(With four birdies and five, 3 point scores Peter certainly took the course at face value at the weekend. A day for controlling the ball for sure, something ex pro Peter did with ease. Very well played indeed sir.) CL Junior Stableford Luke Harris - 28 points
(In the worst of the weather, Junior Captain Luke plotted his way around the course with great success. Playing from the Whites in those conditions took skill and patience, so well done for sticking it out. 17 points going out were followed by 11 coming back with almost every hole being played into gale force winds. A fine, patient round, young sir.) CL Ladies Weekend Stableford Carole Collins Biggs - 34 points
(Again in testing conditions, patience played its part for Carole I am sure. An amazing 21 points on the back 9, into the worst of the weather certainly merits mention with four, 3 point scores on the back nine alone. Very well played.) And finally... CL Ladies Midweek Stableford Tita McArt - 42 points. (With a Gross 70, 3 under par and birdies on 2, 5, 6, 16 and 18. As well as an eagle on the 7th. What a score with five, 3 point scores and two, 4 pointers. After having a chat about setup last year, Tita has certainly come back really well this year. After doing some preliminary research, it's the second best amateur score at the club and is one of our members best rounds if not a members course record which I need to check further) Well done to everyone, especailly Tita for such a wonderful score.
