Welcome to this week's newsletter. Well, another week passes and once again the great British summer raises its unpredictable head. With wind, rain, sunshine and thunder, we really have had it all this week. The wet and warm weather has certainly been a god send for the growing season with the fairways recovering quickly from the very dry May/June we had. With the changes to legislation continuing to develop, July 24th sees the introduction of face coverings in shops and retail. Currently we do not know the exact details of what we can and can’t do, but what we do know is that it will be enforceable by law. I for one am looking forward to wearing a mask that makes my glasses steam up and a covering of the face that doesn’t allow me to lip read. For those of you who don’t know I have problems with my hearing and I am reliant on reading peoples lips a lot of the time. Please don’t be offended if you think I am ignoring you, it is probably because I didn’t hear you. We will of course wait and see how the guidlelines are fed down to us by Engalnd golf and exactly what we can do, we will let you know what we are recommending you do on entering the proshop. Enjoy this weeks read. |
Advanced tee-time bookings
As you are all now aware, the changes to the tee bookings will be changing once again on Saturday, 1st August. From August 1st you will be able to book four weeks in advance with the following restrictions: Warren Course: - No teetime or player number restrictions. Championship Links: - Monday 2 balls till 12pm.4 balls after 12pm - Tuesday 2 balls ALL DAY - Wednesday 2 balls till 9.26. 4 balls from 9.34 - Thursday 2 balls till 12pm. 4 balls after 12pm - Friday 2 balls till 12pm. 4 balls after 12pm - Saturday 2 balls till 12pm. 4 balls after 12pm - Sunday 2 balls till 12pm. 4 balls after 12pm I would like to take this opportunity to remind all members these timings are a temporary measure and are by no means a permanent change. Littlestone Championship will always be a predominantly two ball club and the Warren will always be our fourball course. Thank you once again for adhering to all the regulations we have in place currently. We understand it isn’t easy for everyone dealing with change, so well done for sticking with it. |
A fantastic performance Certain rounds make us mere mortals say “Wow!”. Collin Morikawa had one of those rounds on Sunday. Justin Thomas really should have won the tournament - and when you sink a glorious putt from 50-plus feet for birdie in a playoff it’d be understandable to celebrate as you have - but, as I said, Morikawa had a “Wow!” round. This was Morikawa's second PGA Tour victory. That might not sound too impressive as a standalone statement, but it's one more than the number of cuts he's missed so far in his youthful career. Just let that sink in for a minute.
It goes to show how consistent the top players are. So, rather than trying to hit the ball further, maybe we should all be striving for more consistency in our game? Share your thoughts with us using the button below.
