Welcome to this week’s Links news. Well, the sun has been out and the rain has held off for a few days now and the courses may well begin to dry out a little bit.
It has been an exceptional few months of wet weather, I am sure you are all getting a bit sick of the rain, I know I certainly am. The early mornings have been stunning the last couple of days down on the links as this photo from this morning shows.
Enjoy the read and catch you all soon on the links. James |

One little bit of administration for competition golf, when entering a competition please ensure you now do so at the PSI terminal in the back of the shop and enter your own score on the PSI terminal on completion of your round. To avoid some anomalies in entry, we will now be asking you to enter yourselves but if there’s a problem with the machine or a massive queue, we can enter you at the till as a second option. Many congratulations to all who have played and won in some testing conditions this week. And thank you once again for taking part in the competition golf at the club, you all make it the success it is.

One of my favourite jobs
Thanks for reading and let’s hope the wet weather keeps itself at bay. As a Director of Golf, I get to do lots of jobs in any given week, some I love and cherish and some maybe not so much. This week’s wet weather causes havoc with range and in particular the ball washing machine. It’s my job this week to service the machine and let me tell you it’ll take some months to get the dirt from under my fingernails as you could well imagine. Believe it or not, this is one of my favourite jobs. A free mud mask and hand scrub. |
Anything that makes golf that little bit easier is a good thing in our eyes and if improving your iron play is up there on your to-do list then you’re in luck, as we have a treat we want to share with you. |
| Titleist T200 & T300 irons
|
|
Titleist’s T200 and T300 irons are certainly worth trying out this year as they offer us all we need to make a big difference to our game. Both the T200 & T300 irons have been created to be progressive through the set to ensure that as you work from the long irons to the shorter ones they perform with the versatility and forgiveness required to help lower our scores. If you are looking for more consistency and control in 2020 come and give these fantastic irons a try at your local pro shop.
