Happy New Year and welcome to my first newsletter of 2020. Well, what a year 2019 was, I have been putting some figures together during my time off this last week, and the business has performed really well in 2019 with moderate to astrological gains across the board in golf operations. We have been smashing targets across the board and we are looking to kicking on in 2020. As a team, we want to thank you for supporting the club through the year, and here’s to an exciting time in 2020.
For those of you who have played early in the year, you can now really see how the works we have been doing have taken hold and going out early doors this morning for my new year’s course walk, I was amazed at how the grasses have taken hold. It really shows how mild and wet the conditions have been over the last few months. It bodes well for the coming season that’s for sure, and it really shows how lucky we have been with the weather matching up nicely with our course works schedule.
Enjoy the rest of this week's read. |

What's your golfing resolution?
Well, the New Year is now upon us and it’s time to get better at the game we all love. For me personally, I will be focusing on playing a lot more this year and I will be looking to join the various swindles in both clubs during 2020, so please be gentle with the handicap allowances you give me.
What are your goals for 2020? Can we help you to achieve them?
There is plenty of coaching events available to all members so keep your eyes peeled for some great events planned in 2020. One thing we will be doing for the membership in 2020 will be the all-new coaching evenings. Starting in April, the last Friday of every month in the summer will be a FREE coaching evening with all the PGA staff on hand for some coaching and games. The sign up for this will be limited to 30 people and will be completely free. Our Online Booking System will be up and running very soon so you will be able to book in from the comfort of your armchair. We will also be doing a lot more videos for the website this year and in particular coaching hints and tips. So, tell me what would you like to see in these videos? Click here to get in touch.

Hands up if you’re still feeling stuffed from the excessive (but highly enjoyable) eating over the festive period... We’re not going to ask anything too strenuous of you this week as we ease our way into the new year so don’t worry! Instead, take a quick look at the image below and see if any of it looks familiar to you.

With a new season upon us and plenty of new products arriving in your local pro shop over the next few months (more on this in the coming weeks), now’s the perfect time to wave goodbye to the old tatty golf shoes, the worn-out gloves in a pile at the bottom of your bag, and the golf balls with more scuff marks than dimples! If you’re the type of golfer who keeps on top of their equipment then we salute you but if any of the above rings true, pop by the shop this weekend and give your stuff a winter MOT. We’re always here to help.
