A miraculous escape Well, it certainly seems I have brought the sunshine back with me from Portugal, it’s a stunning day down here on the links (Wednesday). It is certainly fresh that’s for sure as winter has certainly arrived and the frost delays have started in earnest. First of all, Bruce and I wanted to thank everyone who attended the Portugal trip, you were all a pleasure to be around and we had some great fun on Tour. I have been putting the trip together for next November already and it will be from the 1st November - 8th November. Anyone interested, please show your interest early as it will book up very quickly. Here is a few photos of our recent trip and a clip of a miraculous escape shot from Bruce at QUINTA DE LAGO NORTH.

Don’t let me catch you Having now been out and had a walk around the course today, the fairways and tees are recovering miraculously well and the use of mats is now slowly becoming the norm. That said, there are still divot marks out there on the par threes and some fairways, so please use the mats as I really don’t want to catch you doing it.
Please see the photo below on a day after the tee blocks had been moved and no visitors were on the course.

Can I please remind you all that the use of mats is mandatory and not a choice. Having marshalled today (Wednesday), I caught two members not using mats and this is not acceptable. Anyone caught not using the mats will be asked to do so by myself or one of the staff and if it continues it will go before the Captains Committee. Hopefully, this will never have to be the case. For everyone embracing the mats rule, from both the board and staff, thank you. As for the Warren course, I am sure you will agree it’s in great condition for this time of year and it shows how different the land is beneath two courses. You may have noticed we have been overseeding some areas on the Warren course as well as the Championship, so it’s looking good for 2020.

Thanks for reading this week’s news and I look forward to seeing you all down at the Links very soon. |
#468FCD ;text-align:left">Stats that'll make you thinkYou don’t get to a single-figure handicap without having a strong iron game, but the journey shouldn't end there. For us, there are two key factors that, when combined properly, will help take your iron play to the next level. |
1) Get custom-fitted If you're serious about shooting in the 70s each and every round, then getting custom-fitted for your next set of irons is key. PING’s i500 model feel fantastic off the face and provide precise distances and control, but that's no good if you're using the wrong shafts or you need 2-degrees flat but yours are standard.
2) Know your yardages The second stat above is remarkable and if you're one of the 21%, you need to come and see us for a gapping session. There we can give you the distances you hit each of your clubs as well as spot any issues you have between clubs.
