Welcome to this week’s newsletter. The colder weather is certainly now upon us and I am now having to wear a jumper to work in the mornings very chilly. Thanks for all of the responses I had to last week’s email and they all made for interesting reading. The mention of mats certainly stirred the pot, a few may have misunderstood what I meant. This leads me on to ask the question again, maybe with a little more explanation. I didn’t mean mats on tees for clarification just for the fairways and approaches.
On the whole, from the responses I did have, it was very positive and something the club wouldn’t mind doing. This has led me onto doing a bit of research into these mats and I have come up with the following which isn’t actually a mat at all. |

These little beauties are used by several high-end clubs during the winter to help the fairways recover, every little bit helps. Your thoughts would be much appreciated. In addition, these can be branded up, so I would have the club logo printed on them and I would also be looking for company sponsorship to go on the unit. So, if anyone is interested in being a part of this possibly in the future, please let me know here and I will let you know the costings.
Enjoy the rest of this week's read. |

Littlestone Away Day For those of you who attended the Littlestone away day hosted by the Pro Shop team of Bruce and I, thanks ever so much for coming and taking part. We had a wonderful day in high winds and lovely sunshine with some great scores. I had a few momentous occasions on the course which surprised even me. Firstly, I managed to lose three balls in the first nine holes, unheard of for me as I normally have the same ball for at least a season. Secondly, I hit my second-longest drive ever on the 4th par 5 downwind admittedly it went 413 yards. And finally, I managed to draw with Bruce and not have to give him a fiver... Thanks again to everyone who got involved and although we had 22 for the event, we would like more for the next event so please keep your eyes peeled for more info on the next one.

Goodbye laces. Hello Boa Technology in today's golf equipment continues to amaze us year-on-year, but it's not just our clubs that are making strides in the tech department. Believe it or not, golf shoes are some of the most advanced products in the market thanks to the evolution of the Boa Fit System, which is replacing traditional laces. Not only does it fasten your shoe, but when the Boa dial is on the heel of your shoe, it pulls your foot back and down to provide the perfect fit for extreme comfort and stability out on the course. It's great walking to the first tee with a new driver in hand (that's been custom fitted to suit your swing, of course) that you know will help you outdrive your playing partners, but sometimes it can be a simple change to the ball that you're using that has the biggest effect on your game. |
