A fantastic week of scoring... The club has been busy with golfers over the last week on both of the courses, all enjoying perfect conditions at a time of year when you wouldn’t expect it. There are a few results for you to peruse and I have to say there has been some fantastic scores this week. On The Warren, the Vets Thursday team competition was won by Messrs Hook, Juggins and Longman with a great score of 57.7. The Warren February Medal was won with an amazing score of net 60 from talented junior Arthur Saunders closely followed by fellow junior Lennon Nichols with a great 63 net. These boys will be heading to single figures very soon, I am sure of that. The Warren Ladies February Stableford was won by Linda Coleman - well done to her with a 32 point score. Onto the Championship, the Ladies had the February Medal last week which was played in great conditions. Division 1 was won by county captain Tita McArt with a 74 net - a great score. As for Division 2, this was won by Freda Cardwell with a very good 76 net. As for the Men’s Saturday Stableford, this was won by Paul Paddock with an amazing score of 41 points. I think the handicap axe will fall very soon Paul! That is just a few of the many results we have each week at both clubs. It’s great to see how well supported these competitions are and long may it continue.
In regards to the Championship, we played the Saturday Comp in threes to allow more people to play. I am interested in your thoughts regarding this whether it be positive or negative. Just to put some people’s minds a rest, this is just a trial. It will not be something we are looking to run throughout the year and only when we are limited to light in the winter. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Click here to get in touch. |
